The Town of Denmark, Village of Castorland, and Village of Copenhagen Comprehensive Plan Committee will be holding “Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats” sessions in each of the municipalities. The village of Castorland will be holding a SWOT session at 7 p.m. Thursday in the village municipal building, 5187 State Route 410, Castorland. The town of Denmark’s session will be 6:30 p.m. April 18 at the town municipal building at 3707 Roberts Road, Deer River. The session for the village of Copenhagen will be at 6:30 p.m. May 9 in the cafeteria at the Copenhagen Central School, 3020 Mechanic St., Copenhagen.

A “Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats” (SWOT) session encourages community involvement in the development of the comprehensive plan. The SWOT session is a visioning exercise which helps gather thoughts and opinions about the future of the town and villages. The information gathered at the session will be used to develop a survey to gather further information from the public. The results from the SWOT session and the survey will assist the joint comprehensive plan committee with the development of goals, strategies and objectives focusing on a shared vision for the future development within the town and villages. Community members are invited to come and have their opinions heard.
